It's incredible how many amazing resources we have at our fingertips that we find impossible to cover. The content is from such powerful authors that you wonder, how is it possible that I didn't know about it?
Many years ago (2012!) I was reflecting on the relevance of users when thinking about Twitter . Depending on the type of user, we often find that someone who is a mega star in one sector is a complete unknown in another.

To chase or to be found
With so much noise, it's tempting to do nothing to promote the content. I publish it and they'll find me. Which is certainly true. If you don't think about how your organic reach vs. social media has evolved over the years, social media is practically irrelevant in terms of traffic.
But of course, the answer is not that simple. To get quality traffic through the other channels, you need to have a minimum of visibility.
So the second question I have for you is: is it better to go out and find users or let them find you? (outbound vs. inbound marketing).
This is another classic reflection. In the face of so much noise, if you want to be heard, you have to shout loudly (a big investment in outbound campaigns), because smaller investments are drowned out by so many messages.
The other option is to generate valuable content to be found when someone searches for something related to your product or service (inbound marketing).
In the business world, the answer is a combination of both, with segmented use, to try to get the necessary percentage of attention at the right time.
But in the world of blogs and content, what is the best option?
At the beginning of Twitter and Facebook, the reach, interactions, traffic, etc. were considerable, but now that it is at a minimum, is it worth publishing content?
There is the option of paying for this visibility, but we return to the previous discussion. This may be worth it for those who make a living from their blog, but what about the overwhelming majority for whom it is a secondary activity? What is the best option for them?
Of course, this is a simplification of a much more nuanced situation, but I think it's good to consider these issues. Am I stuck on doing things I've been doing for years that no longer work? Do I have other alternatives?
The answer is that we need to stop using the generic recipe that most people use and make our own. The best combination depends on so many factors that there is no single strategy that works for most people.
