Here we present some of the contributions to Marketing that this professor made to be considered the father of this specialty.

The importance of Marketing for Philip Kotler
Before Kotler began to introduce this concept in universities, it was not considered an important profession for institutions.

After this professor made known his concepts and how essential Marketing is for business, the United States began to include Marketing in its business strategy.

Following the work of Peter Ducker, Kotler reinforced the idea indonesia number list that businesses should focus on customer satisfaction.

This is done through the product itself, what are its benefits and its price?

So companies and traders have had to rethink their old strategies.

Extended Marketing Concept
The concept of Marketing, as we know it today, was not always like this. Before, there was a belief that Marketing only referred to sales and marketing.

So Kotler took it upon himself to extend this concept to make it clear that Marketing is about a much broader process than just selling products and services.

This is why today Marketing is known as a form of communication and exchange or interaction with customers.

Furthermore, Marketing is not only about sales, you can also sell ideas as politicians, charities or other spheres do that have nothing to do with business as such.



New concepts added
In addition to extending the concept of Marketing,  Kotler also developed new concepts such as Social Marketing and Demarketing.

The first refers to the fact that marketing can influence the behavior of people who have benefited from a community.

The second concept is understood as what an organization must do to reduce demand when it is alarmingly high.

These concepts that we will develop below were those that Kotler explained.

Marketing
In his book “Marketing Management,” Kotler explains:

“Marketing is an administrative and social process through which individuals and groups obtain what they need and want by generating, offering and exchanging valuable products with their peers.”
