The retail sector is facing increasing difficulties, suffering from severe sales losses that have already forced many businesses to close. What the coronavirus hasn't managed to do, the online sector is taking care of, as many customers have long since increasingly preferred to shop online, thus saving themselves long trips to the country's department stores.

Without digital sales, hardly any retail company can survive
The advantages are obvious: those who fill their shopping cart at home on their nurse database computer can choose regardless of store opening hours and don't have to wait in line. Comparing products is also easier, as the internet offers comparable items just a click away, eliminating the need for salespeople to advise them.
Regain lost buyers through strategic measures
Twenty years ago, today's giant Amazon showed the way. As is so often the case, consumers are determining the path, as their demand is clearly directed towards the online service provider's offerings. Retailers who look down their noses at the giant fall into the trap of overlooking their own mistakes, because in the end, what counts is who generates the most revenue and can assert themselves in the market. In Germany's service desert, shoppers no longer feel like kings among customers but recognize the advantages of online shops. Therefore, it is up to retailers to win back lost customers and convincingly explain to them why shopping in person, although different from shopping online, provides clear arguments in favor of this decision.
