As the first step in this renewal, "Yahoo! Display Ad Network" (YDN) was gradually launched as "Yahoo! Ads Display Ads (Performance)" (YDA) in November 2019.
Then, in April 2020, all agencies were able to switch growth of the overseas chinese in canada to YDA, and from July 2020, all accounts were able to switch to YDA.

Now that YDA is available to all accounts, we would like to introduce some best practices for YDA based on the changes from YDN and the knowledge we have gained from actually using it.

First, let’s check the renewal points from YDN to YDA. The three points shown in the figure above have changed.

Simplifying advertising products

Multiple advertising services are integrated, allowing for a flexible and effective approach to users at every stage of the funnel, from awareness to retention.

YDA can effectively reach out to users at the awareness level, which would be difficult to do with YDN alone.

In addition, premium ads can be used as display ads (reservation type) as they are (scheduled to be available from fall 2020).

Renewal of advertising management tool

The YDA management screen allows you to compare and display figures for each period in a graph, and also allows you to download reports directly.

In addition, you can now complete everything from campaigns to ad creation on one screen. Images and video files can also be uploaded on the same screen without switching to a separate screen.

Update of distribution algorithm
A new item called Campaign Objectives has been added, allowing you to set campaign objectives based on your promotional goals, such as achieving results or brand awareness.

YDN delivered ads using an algorithm that maximized the number of clicks (or views in the case of videos), but with display ads (performance-based), it is possible to deliver ads using the optimal algorithm depending on the objectives of each campaign.

This enables clients to achieve their programmatic advertising goals more accurately.
